OK, next week starts the Kauai Mokihana Festival with a lot of the events taking place at the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort. The hula competition with its craft fair component takes place at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall next Friday and Saturday … craft fair opens from 10 a.m.; hula starts from 5 p.m.
We’re in the start of the endangered seabird fledgling season that started Sept. 15 and continues through Dec. 15. The Kauai Interscholastic Federation announced changes to the start time of the football games for the remainder of the season after consulting with the Department of Parks and Recreation.
According to Kapaa High School Athletic Director Greg Gonsalves, the remaining football games will start at noon with the Junior Varsity contests followed by the varsity games starting 30 minutes after the JV games end.
This Saturday, Kauai will host Kapaa at Vidinha Stadium with the JV game starting at noon.
