There will be no registration on race day for the Keiki Fun Run that starts at 9 a.m. at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa. The Keiki Fun Run is sponsored by Wilcox Health. Yes, they’re the same people that present the Sports and Fitness Expo that started on Friday and continues through Saturday.
Geared for keiki, the fun run that starts with a Chicken includes the Toddler Trot for young ‘uns ages 2 to 4, the quarter mile for young people ages 5 to 7, and the half mile for keiki 8 to 12 years old.
All of this Saturday activity is scheduled to allow University of Hawaii fans to watch KGMB TV for the Warriors’ match against UCLA at the TC Ching facility on O‘ahu.
For people already on O‘ahu, the Waimea High School two-time Division II champions will play nationally-ranked Kahuku High School at the Kahuku campus starting at 6 p.m.
For Kauai residents, Kapa‘a High School, an HHSAA Division I team, will host Kapolei High School at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex with a 6 p.m. kickoff.
To settle the three-day weekend, don’t forget the Lihue United Church of Christ Labor Day Breakfast that takes place from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Lihue Parish Hall.
