LIHUE — A holiday shortened week means less roadwork on tap at the beginning of September with the primary focus on grass trimming and guardrail repair and trimming, according to an update from the Hawaii Department of Transportation on Friday.
The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Sept. 6. All work is weather permitting.
Eleele
A lane shift on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in the eastbound direction for sewer line installation, in the vicinity of Eleele Road and Waialo Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Friday, Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kalaheo
A right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass trimming, between mile post 12.2 to 13.2, in the vicinity of Halewili Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Friday, Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A right lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) is possible in either direction for guardrail repairs, between mile post 0 to 0.2, in the vicinity of Kaumualii Highway, on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
A right lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) is possible in either direction for grass trimming and guardrail clearing, between mile post 0 to 3.8, in the vicinity of Kaumualii Highway, on Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Friday, Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kilauea
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in either direction for grass trimming, between mile post 23.8 to 26, in the vicinity of Kalihiwai Road and the Princeville Airport, on Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Friday, Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for cold planing and repaving, between mile post 24.4 to 27.9, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road and Ka Haku Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Friday, Sept. 6, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Koloa
A right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for guardrail repairs, between mile post 3.5 to 4.5, on Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
A right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for guardrail repairs, between mile post 5.1 to 5.3, in the vicinity of Kahili Road, on Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
A right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass trimming and guardrail clearing, between mile post 6 to 7, in the vicinity of Maluhia Street, on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.
A right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in the westbound direction for grass trimming and guardrail cleaing, between mile post 11 to 11.5, in the vicinity of Lauoho Road and Hokua Road, on Friday, Sept. 6, from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.
