LIHUE — Speaking during the Kauai Chamber of Commerce Governor’s Luncheon on Tuesday, Kelvin Moniz, the executive director of the Kauai Independent Food Bank, announced the food bank collected $6,600 in monetary contributions and 500 pounds of food during the one-day music fest at Anahola Marketplace on Saturday.

The 5th annual Kauai Food Drive & Free Benefit Concert was sponsored by Security National Mortgage, Kauai County Council member Felicia Cowden, Old Republic Title Company and Da Funk! Band of which Mike Vallee, the event producer, is part of.
“Mahalo nui loa for helping the Kauai Independent Food Bank change the face of hunger on Kauai,” Vallee said. “Aloha, Kauai!”
