Friday and Saturday are the race packet and bib pickups during the Wilcox Health Sports and Fitness Expo that takes place at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Grand Ballroom from 10 a.m. Friday … great place to run into some of the participating runners, and representatives from the event’s major sponsors like Kauai Coffee. Race packet pick up continues until Saturday at 4 p.m.
According to Robin Jumper, who was on-air with Ron Wiley (he does announcing the finishers on Race Day), this year’s 15th marathon and half marathon, and the 11th Kauai Marathon Keiki Fun Run is pretty much sold out … there might be a couple of spots remaining if you check the marathon website by Thursday.
Kudos to our very important people dignitaries like Congresswoman Jill Tokuda who could not resist a serving of Gary Ueunten’s warabi (it’s very rare on O‘ahu, Jill said) salad during the Kauai County Farm Bureau’s annual general membership meeting where Jill also served as a judge for the Dessert and Side Dish competition.
And Gov. Josh Green was on-island for the annual Kauai Chamber of Commerce Governor’s Luncheon on Tuesday at the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort (anyone see Chef Mark Sassone and the Char Siu Grilled Tofu on TV?).
