Waimea Bridge
Most of the bridges around Kaua‘i are being or have been up for repairs.
Recently, the Hanapepe Town Bridge and the Kekaha Bridge west of the harbor on Kaumuali’i Highway were being repaired.
When will the Waimea Bridge be up for repairs or reconstruction? Pavement on the bridge is cracking and the pedestrian walkway is narrow where people are too close to traffic.
They’re so close that it’s an accident waiting to happen especially when semis and tourist buses are there traveling on the bridge.
Also not to mention, speeders driving up and down through the bridge.
The bridge needs to be updated and widened.

The bridge in Hanapepe took almost 8 years to completely finish……over a large creek. North shore bridges rebuilt after the last major flood were built back as ONE LANE bridges. Who the heck thought that was a good idea…..certainly not the people that actually drive that road. “Oh, but we must keep everything the way it was before….no forward progress. Keep everything the same”. The two lane highway kills a number of people each year because there is no center lane to make left turns while on, or “on to” the highway. 3 lanes around the entire island. It’s the 21st century, not 1850.
