Alroy L. N. Enos
Alroy Lyal Nalei Enos, 81, of Anahola, Kaua‘i, passed away on Aug. 4, 2024, at the Hilo Benioff Medical Centerʻs Intensive Care Unit. His final moments of life were shared intimately amidst his family. Our father was born on Feb. 4, 1943, to Edward and Ivy Enos of Papakōlea, O‘ahu. He was one of twelve children.
Our father was passionate about athletics, excelling on the basketball court and football field throughout his lifetime. He was a graduate of Roosevelt Highʻs Class of ʻ61. Shortly thereafter, and as a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Alroy served a proselyting mission in the islands of Samoa at 19 years of age. Upon his return, Alroy earned a degree in Education at the Church College of Hawai‘i in Lāʻie, O‘ahu. He enlisted in the Army and fought in the Vietnam War and worked at Schofield.
Concurrently, Alroy and Lorna Lehua (Awai) Enos began their lives married in 1970. His career included decades of teaching school and coaching the sports that he revered the most. Alroy retired from the Department of Education, then spent time with his family.
Our parents, married 53 years, reared his surviving family members Shane (Tiana) Enos, Henani (Maile) Enos, Kanoelehua Enos, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, brothers and sisters.
He was predeceased by sister Lenora (Enos) Kalani and brothers Edward and Leslie Wayne Enos.
Our father lived a Christ-centered life as the Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi Stake Patriarch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served righteously until his death.
Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024. Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m., Service is at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Lihuʻe Stake Center, 4580 Ehiku St., Lihu‘e. Dedication of Grave and Burial at 1 p.m. at Kauaʻi Veterans Cemetery, 4331 Lele Rd, Hanapepe.
Corazon Ubi Coma
Corazon Ubi Coma, of Lihu‘e, passed away on Aug. 12, 2024, at the Garden Isle Rehab & Nursing at the age of 96. She was born on Nov. 25, 1927, in the Philippines. She was a cook.
She was preceded in death by husband Victorino Coma, son Romie Coma, daughter Josie Coma, parents Fructoso and Genoveva Ubi, sisters Esmenia Alcantara, Tomasita Amistad, Lolita Real, Monica Abalos, Melchora Ubi and Leonida Bagay.
She is survived by sons Nolie Coma of Lihu‘e, Melari (Carol) Coma of Lihu‘e, Teymie (Grace) Coma of Lihu‘e, Bengie (Agnes) Coma of ‘Ele‘ele, daughters Leilanie (Edgar) Valenciano of Lihu‘e, Emie (Larry) Tanimoto of Lihu‘e, Betie (Damien Tolentino) Coma of Kapolei, grandchildren Mark Allan (Khey) Coma, Darwin (Martian) Coma, Geraldine (Jhunel) Opido, Hazen (Richard) Layaoen, Ritchelle (Madelyn) Coma, RJ Coma, Kristen (Eisen) Clemente, A-Jay Coma, Lindon Valenciano, Lexine Valenciano, Elson Tanimoto, Elshae (Cameron) Largusa, Bethany Coma, Abie Coma, great-grandchildren Kayzen Coma, Mark Coma, Klark Coma, Akisha Coma, Kurt Coma, Yllana Coma, Ritzmone Coma, Aesya Coma, Avrille Amira Coma, Avrille Racquel Coma, Kenzie Clemente, Kobie Coma, Lokahi Ana, Kleon Clemente, Maddox Barsatan, Lenley Largusa, sisters Florcefida Bul Lalayao of California, Adoracion Ragadi of the Philippines and Medelina Espinosa of the Philippines.
A service will be held on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i. Visitation is from 9 to 10:45 a.m., a celebration of life at 11 a.m., and burial will follow at Kalapaki Bay Memorial Park Cemetery in Lihu‘e. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.
