The Aloha Cold Brew is no stranger to shoppers who visit the craft fairs and special events featuring craft vendors. Thank you, road closures and detours, a visit to the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i (they’re hosting the Food Drive Day on Saturday at locations around Kaua‘i), found the Aloha Cold Brew + Deli food truck parked on Haleukana Street. Donya McKnight said the food truck is open on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (when is lunch hour?). And, if she has time, you can always talk to her about those cement planters and forever plants.

In addition to the Food Drive Day collection site at the Walmart store, the Good Neighbor Car Seat Safety program is hosting a free Car Seat Check Up event from 9 a.m. to noon at Walmart, and is there a Krispy Kreme fundraiser going on at the same time?
Kudos to Hartung Brothers who provided the fresh corn for fundraising for the Waimea High School Project Grad program. Hartung Brothers also provided the 250 ears that were given away on Saturday during the Kaua‘i Farm Fair Tribute, said Laurie Ho, the president of the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau, which is holding its annual general membership meeting on Sunday.
Cici Ko, the sushi lady at Times Supermarket, found more than negi (you remember Coach Bunga calling green onions by that name) and cucumber when Carolyn Lum shared a bag of fresh corn. Carolyn said Cici’s husband does the sushi in the Big Save stores.
