LIHU‘E — A number of road-related projects are on tap in the coming week with work stretching from the West Shore to the North Shore, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in an update on Friday.
The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Aug. 23. All work is weather permitting.
‘Ele‘ele
A left turn pocket closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in the eastbound direction for sewer line crossing replacement, between mile post 15.91 to 15.93, in the vicinity of Waialo Road, on Monday, Aug. 19, through Friday, Aug.23 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hanalei
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in either direction for guardrail repair, between mile post 2.4 to 2.6, in the vicinity of Aku Road, on Monday, Aug. 19, through the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 20, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Hanamaulu
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for striping, between mile post 1.06 and 2.57, in the vicinity of Laukini Street and Kapule Highway, on Monday, Aug. 19, through Friday, Aug. 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kalaheo
A right lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) is possible in either direction for guardrail repairs, in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway and Kauwai Street, on Wednesday, Aug. 22, through the morning of Thursday, Aug. 23, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 12.23 to 15.67, in the vicinity of Halewili Road, on Monday, Aug. 19, through Friday, Aug. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kalihiwai
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for highway reconstruction, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road and Ka Haku Road, through Friday Aug. 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kapaia
A right lane closure of Ma‘alo Road (Route 583) is possible in the southbound direction to fill drop offs, between mile post 0.50 to 0.92, on Monday, Aug. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kipu
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for guardrail repair, between mile post 3.9 to 4.1, in the vicinity of Haiku Airstrip and Pu‘uana Road, on Tuesday, Aug. 20. to the morning of Wednesday Aug. 21, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Koke‘e
A single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) is possible in either direction for road widening and paving, between mile post 11.5 and 14, on Monday, Aug. 19, through Friday, Aug. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Koloa
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for guardrail repair, between mile post 5.1 to 5.3, in the vicinity of Kahili Road, on Wednesday, Aug. 21, to the morning of Thursday Aug. 22, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass cutting and guardrail clearing, between mile post 8.37 to 9.98, in the vicinity of Pune‘e Road and Akemama Road, on Monday, Aug. 19, through Friday, Aug. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Princeville
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 26 to 28, in the vicinity Princeville Airport and Ka Haku Road, on Monday, Aug. 19, through Friday, Aug. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
