How could you pass by and not get a picture of the pillars of Waimea High School (Waimea Alumni and Friends Foundation) asked Dennis Eguchi of the Kekaha College (scholarship opportunities for Kekaha residents) during the Menehune Mingle school orientation event for parents and supporters of Waimea High School.

Are you able to use fresh corn (Waimea High School Project Grad 2025 is offering 24 freshly harvested ears for a $20 donation on Sunday with pickup from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the parking lot across from Hofgaard Park!) to get roasted corn like the kind used to garnish the hiyashi chuka, or cold ramen, prepared by Chefs Sarah (she’s always upstairs at Hapa Ramen and Whiskey) and Mike (he’s the street food guy) Litman during the Chef’s Demo at the weekly Wednesday Kaua‘i Culinary Market (Aletha Thomas had one of her Monkeypod Jam market tours in full swing) at The Shops at Kukui‘ula.
Different tastes come to the Anahola Beach Park on Saturday during the Ko‘olau Limu Festival from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., where the traditional Anahola Village limu pickers will be honored and the emerging limu stewards will be recognized in a family fun day event featuring live entertainment, including hula and Tahitian dance performances, and of course, limu in the activity stations.
Don’t forget football, tonight when Waimea High School hosts King Kekaulike of Maui at Hanapepe Stadium, where preseason football games always means good food at the food booth. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. so plan accordingly to enjoy the plate lunches.
