The orchid people will be joined by the Kaua‘i Bonsai Club on Friday and Saturday in the area next to Sone’s Delicatessen near the food court.
The full bloom of the Kaua‘i Farm Fair Tribute takes place early Saturday with the accepting of entries to the Fruit and Vegetable Show at Kukui Grove Center
More Friday excitement as the Garden Isle Quilters — featuring the work of Jeni Hardy, mLea Ingram, Linda Matthews, Lesley Morris and Toni Wass — will open their exhibit and sale from 10 a.m. at the Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery. An artists reception will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The exhibit and sale runs through Aug. 24.
Edwin Vea said the Beach House Craft Fair takes place on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a nearly full house of vendors.
High school football debuts its 2024 season on Friday when Kaua‘i High School hosts Viewpoint School from California in a Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation preseason contest at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex where the main event kicks off at 6 p.m.
Waimea High School will host King Kekaulike on Saturday night at Hanapepe Stadium with a 6 p.m. kickoff, according to a schedule from the county’s Division of Parks and Recreation.
