Congratulations to Sara Miura for winning the first prize! Joni Patricio’s marker got the second prize and Mark Development’s chip claimed the third prize. Meli Ueno belonged to the fourth prize winning marker.
So, is everyone ready for the Admissions Day weekend? County offices are closed on Friday, but there is the preseason football game with Kaua‘i High School and Viewpoint School from California. The Garden Isle Quilters open their 5th annual Exhibit and Sale from 10 a.m. with the “Meet the Artists” reception taking place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery at Kukui Grove Center.
The Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau offers a preview with plants available for sale for the Kaua‘i Bonsai Club and the Garden Island Orchid Society, who will be sharing the space next to Sone’s Delicatessen on Friday and Saturday.
The Tribute to Past Farm Fairs take place Saturday with the Fruit and Vegetable Show, the K+M Crafters (XO, Mama said she’ll be there with her fine art baked goods). The Master Gardeners said the seeds will be available at The Grove Farm Market, but they will have a table set up at Kukui Grove, too.
On the heels of the Farm Fair tribute, Mary Lardizabal will debut her choir and ukulele band at the Relay for Life benefiting the American Cancer Society … cancer survivors can register for the Survivors Dinner from 3:30 p.m. at the Vidinha Stadium soccer fields. Mr. James Yamamoto said the Lihu‘e Hongwanji Mission is making a comeback to this event after the COVID-19. The Survivors Walk starts at 5 p.m., and are the Tiffany Dick dancers doing the Luminaria Ceremony?
