PO‘IPU — Brue Baukol Capital Partners on Thursday announced the promotion of Trinette Kaui to vice president of Land Assets and Community Relations.
In her role of managing Brue Baukol Capital Partners’ land holdings on Kaua‘i, her expanded role will include building positive relationships with the community, guiding charitable contributions and overseeing employee volunteer programs on behalf of the company.
“Brue Baukol Capital Partners deeply cares about the community, and it is an honor to help guide the ways in which we contribute to a better future for Kaua‘i,” said Kaui. “I look forward to serving in my new role and ensuring we continue to support meaningful positive impact in our community.”
Since joining Brue Baukol Capital Partners as director of Land Assets for McBryde Resources and Kukui‘ula Realty Group in 2022, Kaui has managed 18,500 acres of agriculture and conservation land on Kaua‘i.
Previously, Kaui represented Alexander & Baldwin Properties Hawai‘i in the Kaua‘i community for nearly 40 years, serving as the area manager and broker in charge, a role that included overseeing 19,000 acres of land and 80,000 square feet of industrial and commercial property.
“We are grateful to have a presence on Kaua‘i and know that our responsible stewardship of the lands entrusted to us is made possible by our remarkable team,” said Chad Brue, the CEO and Founder of BBCP.
“An incredibly experienced business and community leader, Trinette has the knowledge and expertise to guide Brue Baukol Capital Partners as we seek to make a positive difference as part of the Kaua‘i community.”
Outside of the office, Kaui serves on the boards of Hawai‘i Pacific Health, Wilcox Hospital Foundation, Friends of Kaua‘i Community College, Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative Charitable Foundation, Child and Family Service, Scouting of America Friends of Scouting, Historic Hawai‘i Foundation, McBryde Federal Credit Union, and Kaua‘i Philippine Cultural Center.
Kaui is the chair of the Kukuiolono Park Trust, president of the Contractor’s Association of Kaua‘i, and vice chair of the Self-Help Housing Corporation of Hawai‘i.
“Trinette is gifted with both a brilliant business mind and a compassionate heart,” Brue said. “Joyfully dedicating many years of her life to her community, serving on several nonprofit and community boards, she sets an outstanding example for our company.”
Kaui was named the Realtor of the Year 2009 by the Kaua‘i Board of Realtors and the Kaua‘i Volunteer of the Year in 2013 by the Boy Scouts of America (currently re-branded as Scouting of America).
She was also named Hawai‘i’s 2001 Mother of the Year to her two sons, Kale and Kawika. In 2019, Kaui received The Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America and the 2019 Mea Ho‘omana‘o Award from the Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce.
Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami proclaimed Dec. 22, 2022, as Trinette Kaui Day.
A licensed real estate broker, Kaui previously attended the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa and Kaua‘i Community College. She is currently enrolled at the University of Hawai‘i West O‘ahu, where she is pursuing a degree in business administration.
Kaui was born and raised on Kaua‘i, spending her childhood in the Waimea Sugar Plantation camps.
She’s been married for four decades to Wesley Kaui, a retired detective with the Kaua‘i Police Department. The couple have two sons — Kale Kaui, a department head at the Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama Campus, and Kawika Kaui, an Ocean Safety Bureau officer with the County of Kaua‘i.
