LIHU‘E — A wealth of road-related projects are scheduled in the days ahead, as work crews take advantage of the dry summer weather, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in an update on Friday.
The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Aug. 9. All work is weather permitting.
Hanamaulu
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction for striping, between mile post 1.06 and 2.57, in the vicinity of Laukini Street and Kapule Highway, through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Hanapepe
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for shoulder grading and guardrail clearing, between mile post 14 to 19, in the vicinity of Kaumakani Avenue, on Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kalaheo
A right lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) is possible in either direction for guardrail repairs, in the vicinity of Haku Hale Street and Kauwai Street, on Wednesday, Aug. 7, through the morning of Thursday, Aug. 8, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Kalihiwai
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for highway reconstruction, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road and Ka Haku Road, through Friday Aug. 9, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kapaia
A right lane closure of Ma‘alo Road (Route 583) is possible in either direction to fix the drop off on the edge of the road, between mile post 1.3 to 3.3, on Wednesday, Aug. 7, through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Koke‘e
A single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) is possible in either direction for road widening and paving, between mile post 11.5 and 14, through Friday, Aug. 9 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Koloa
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for guardrail repairs between mile post 5.1 to 5.3, in the vicinity of Kahili Road, on Thursday, Aug. 8, through the morning of Friday, Aug. 9, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Lihu‘e
A right lane closure on Rice Street (Route 51) is possible in the northbound direction for slope stabilization in the vicinity of Royal Sonesta, on Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for striping and sign installations, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, on Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A right lane closure on Nawiliwili Road (Route 58) is possible in the northbound direction for tree trimming and grass cutting, between Haleko Road and Kukui Grove Street, on Monday, Aug. 5, and Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Oma‘o
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass cutting between Upa Road and Wawae Road, on Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Princeville
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction for slope stabilization work, between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 1 to 2.5, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road, on Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Puhi
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for guardrail clearing between Puhi Road and Kipu Road, on Monday, Aug. 5, Wednesday, Aug. 7, and Friday, Aug. 9, from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.
Wailua
A single lane closure of Wailua Alternate Road (Route 5600) is possible in the southbound direction for grass cutting, between mile post 0 to 0.76, in the vicinity of Kuhio Highway and Olohena Road, on Monday, Aug. 5, and Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Wailua Homesteads
A single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible in either direction for asphalt reconstruction and resurfacing, between mile post 0 to 3.9, in the vicinity of Kuhio Highway and Hawaiiana Road, on Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible in either direction for guardrail repair, between mile post 1.6 to 1.9, on Tuesday, Aug. 6, through the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
