Congratulations to Jackie Kaina and the Kaua‘i Economic Development Board ‘ohana and staff on the soft opening of the Kaua‘i Creative Technology Center where Kevin Matsunaga, retired from the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School, started as the Digital Media Specialist with KEDB. Kudos to Kahu Jade Wai‘ale‘ale Battad for always knowing the right things to say whether a Polynesian Revue, or a solemn opening.

Rep. Dee Morikawa was looking ahead to playing pickleball with Laurie Yoshida at the Kaua‘i Pickleball Association tournament at the Kaua‘i Community College where Larry Feinstein said Kaua‘i Beer Company is sponsoring the Beer Bracket.
The pickleball tournament is a great way to inaugurate the newly renovated tennis courts at the college and University of Hawai‘i tennis coaches and community pickleball coach Jan “Honza” Hroch held free clinics for tennis and pickleball following the UH’s athletic coaches and players appearance to participate in the Koloa Plantation Days parade.
OK, time to go visit the bug man Roshan Manandhar at the Kaua‘i Master Gardener tent at the Grove Farm Market. The bug man is available to talk about backyard gardeners’ pests and possible solutions as part of the arts and crafts component of the Saturday farmer’s market where Lickety Louie will be vending their pet treats that always draws a crowd.
Then, it’s off to Heiva i Kaua‘i that plays on Saturday and Sunday at Kapa‘a Beach Park from 9 a.m. And, isn’t the YWCA of Kaua‘i Remember Sandy G golf tournament going on Sunday at the Hokuala Ocean Course?
