Chef Bell said he’s never been to Hawai‘i or Kaua‘i, but already excited … his favorite Orly’s cookie is the ginger cookie that brings the atmosphere of Christmas on its first bite of the soft chew morsel … what? Orly’s customer Dillon Seely (he’s the ‘Ohana Motors’ sparkplug that saw the Surfrider Foundation of Kaua‘i get a Toyota pickup to use for their shoreline cleanings!) and his family didn’t even swing by the cookie section or the breads section that Chef Bell plans to expand on.
Chef Bell said Orly, they worked together at the Hyatt Las Vegas, told him, “The center — Orly is one of the power guards — is here!”
Between “throwing flour” like he did the morning following his arrival on Kaua‘i, Chef Bell said he has three goals while on the Garden Island — learn to play the guitar (‘ukulele?), learn the Filipino language and settle in so his daughter can join him.
Mahalo, Chef Bell, for bringing some Las Vegas to Kaua‘i, and what is Sharron Weber’s favorite at Orly’s Patisserie?
