Yes, Marty and Beth Amaro — you could hear the piano from the parking lot of the Regency at Puakea!

Mahalo Eunice Bergonia of the Regency and George (and Alina) Evanoff for the once-in-a-lifetime experience of watching and hearing the Evanoff children, including Jannik (wow! Upside down piano playing?), Alina, Nicklas and Hendrik get to play with Peter DePoe (George needed to know whether to call him Peter, or Last Standing Bear), the drummer with Redbone, a Native American band on one of Peter’s compositions … absolute treat for the Regency residents and “guests!”
Jannik not only did the Redbone number along with the other Evanoff kids (wow! Alina as a rock violinist?), he continued with other foot-stompin’ music like “Hit the Road, Jack!” and the “Piano Man” that drew Marty (he thought Billy Joel was in the house) and Beth to check out the source of the strong piano music. The young pianist (remember when he went to Europe and won the piano competition, there?) was thrilled when Peter joined him on a single drum for the numbers beyond the Redbone number.
Alina (George announced that the 14-year-old applied for and was accepted by the Honolulu Youth Symphony 2 — he said the Youth Symphony has three levels, and “2” is the second of the three levels … means that Alina has to go to Honolulu on Sundays to practice and play) was just thrilled that they came off a performance at the Lihu‘e Public Library (these were all free!), and were invited to future performances at the Princeville and Waimea public libraries (what? no Hanapepe?).
And where was Anika? She was a Santa’s Hale (at Kukui Grove) helper, who is busy becoming a surgeon.
