WAILUA — The routes through Wailua and Wailua Homesteads are in store for a lot of road-related work with more than one-half dozen projects scheduled to take place in the upcoming week, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in a weekly update on Friday.
The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Aug. 2. All work is weather permitting.
‘Ele‘ele
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for guardrail clearing, between mile post 13.47 to 17, in the vicinity of Lele Road, on Monday, July 29, through Friday, Aug. 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Hanamaulu
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for striping, between mile post 2.31 and 2.59, in the vicinity of Akilolo Street and Kapule Highway, through Friday, Aug. 2, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Hanapepe
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for shoulder grading, between mile post 17 to 18, in the vicinity of Lele Road, on Monday, July 29, through Friday, Aug. 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kalihiwai
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for highway reconstruction, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road and Ka Haku Road, through Friday Aug. 2, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kapaia
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in the norhtbound direction for guardrail repair, between mile post 1 and 1.1, in the vicinity of Laukini Road, through the morning of Monday, July 29, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Kealia
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for striping and profile grinding, in the vicinity of Kealia Road and Aliomanu Road, through Friday, Aug. 2, from 8p.m. to 5 a.m.
Koke‘e
A single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) is possible in either direction for road widening and paving between mile post 11.5 and 14, through Friday, Aug. 2 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Lihu‘e
A right lane closure on Rice Street (Route 51) is possible in the northbound direction for slope stabilization in the vicinity of Royal Sonesta, on Monday, July 29 through Friday, Aug. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in the southbound direction for repairs of the catch basin and sidewalk, in the vicinity of Poinciana Street, on Monday, July 29, Tuesday, July 30 and Friday, Aug. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for striping and sign installations, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, on Monday, July 29, through Friday, Aug. 2, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Nawiliwili
A right lane closure on Rice Street (Route 51) is possible in the southbound direction for guardrail repair, in the vicinity of Hoolaulea Way and Paena Loop, on Thursday, Aug. 1, through the morning of Friday, Aug. 2, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in the southbound direction for clearing overhang and shoulder, between mile post 6.61 and 6.88, in the vicinity of Kapa‘a Bypass Road and Aleka Loop, on Thursday, Aug. 1 through Friday, Aug. 2, from 2 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in the southbound direction for clearing overhang and shoulder, between mile post 6.62 and 7.08, in the vicinity of Papaloa Road and Fernandes Road, on Tuesday, July 30, from 2 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.
A single lane closure of Kapa‘a Bypass Road (Route 5600) is possible in the southbound direction for grass cutting, between mile post 0.76 to 0.77, in the vicinity of Kuhio Highway and Olohena Road, on Monday, July 29, through Thursday, Aug. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

A single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible in either direction for asphalt reconstruction and resurfacing, between mile post 0 to 3.9, in the vicinity of Kuhio Highway and Hawai‘iana Road, through Friday, Aug. 2, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
A right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 1 to 4.5, on Monday, July 29 through Friday, Aug. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
