A sea of remembrance lanterns, anchored by a pair of red chochin, flutter at the entrance to the Lihu‘e Hongwanji Mission on Saturday evening, July 20, 2024. The lanterns overlooked the sea of bon dance celebrants surrounding the yagura that was anchored with a teru teru bozu, a talisman to ward off rain. Kapa‘a Hongwanji, located across the Burger King in Kapa‘a, will host the next bon dance on Friday, July 26, and Saturday, July 27.

Kudos to Hawai‘i Community Little League Carole T. Baptiste SportsComplex.
