Celeste Mochi (Ed and Michiko Justus of Talk Story Bookstore — “the western-most book store” — were seen at the Back to School Bash on Saturday instead of the traditional Friday Night Art in Hanapepe!) would’ve been the answer to “too much people, too many things to do” where John Feagans returned to Kaua‘i and found a Salt Pond alternative to play his accordion.

Christine Ammann of Switzerland (they got special Ricola flavors that’s not available in Hawai‘i) took time out to change into hula gear and join Joanne Parongao and the kupuna group outside the Storybook Theatre, and Crystal Farley, Kristen Moritz and Lauren Harrison of Arizona had their Kaua‘i Beer Co. shirts (Truck Stop Thursday, how many beers? and “They were really nice to us”) on following a day of golf (the shirts make really good team shirts).
Grandma Joy Azeka Canut (she’s “grandma” to Natalie Fonda of Fonda’s Daughter — too hard to say papa’s real name) told Hanale Santos of Las Vegas (Mark Bennor and his son are playing basketball up there with Coach Max Manera) “No lemonade, plumeria (lei).”
Mark Jeffers unveiled the Bee Shop (no, the Honeybee Celebration is pau, but the sign makes a good wind screen) after getting a donation of all kinds of goodies from a veteran.
OK, time to go check out some of the intricate shades of indigo (Kimberly Kirk says she used “wild” indigo) in the people of Pila‘a series at the Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery before (it’s really hard to do after shopping) the Pau Hana Market opens.
