Eagle Scout candidate Hunter Corpuz of Troop 148 is working on his Eagle Project using material donated by Kaua‘i Concrete and Rock. His volunteer crew should be at the Kawaikini New Century Public School by 7:30 a.m., said Devi Berg, mother of girl Scout Hi‘ilei Berg (did anyone get to see her in the Amanda Kaufmann work during the Washed Up marine debris exhibit?).

Kudos, Leah Aiwohi for being able to get the four Philippines trained teachers (that’s Randall Francisco’s term) cleared for the Pacific Biodiesel first agricultural tour celebrating Kaua‘i’s first bloom (that sunflower enhancement looked really good, Jean Morris who is the principal at the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School).
Leah said the four teachers just arrived here on Wednesday for the upcoming school year. Randall said there are 14 of the teachers with the other 10 coming, next week.
OK, it’s time to get to the Back to School Bash.
And don’t forget, The Bikes on Rice slow roll (Wilcox Health presents its annual Keiki Safety Day — for bikes and skateboards — on Saturday from 8 a.m. behind the hospital.
Then there is the Downtown Lihu‘e Night Market with Lexi Jones, and The Ulu Room … even Rob’s Good Times Grill joins the fun by offering space for vendors outside the bar and restaurant.
