Lorraine H. Manus
Lorraine H. Manus, of Hanapepe, passed away on June 3, 2024, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. She was born on Sept. 19, 1946, in Waimea, Kaua‘i. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by son Michael Jade Manus and grandson Richard “Kai Boy” Iwatate.
She is survived by husband Daniel Manus Jr., sons Kalani O. Manus (Melissa) of Kekaha, Dana K. Manus Lihu‘e, daughters Clarissa M. Emayo (Bambi) of Hanapepe, Winona M. Garcia of Kona, Ellyson U. Williams (Mike) of Arizona, De‘Lori H. Gomes (Roy) of O‘ahu, grandchildren Aloha Mociun, Andres Emayo III, Ali‘i Emayo, Alex Soza, Alexis Garcia, Breanne Garcia, Kalani O. Manus Jr,.Melanie Manus, Marissa Manus, Mariah Manus, Leland Manus, Hi‘ilani Williams, Lanson Manus, Shanel Manus, Julieanne Manus, Dana Manus Jr., Sierra Gomes, Roxy Gomes, Royce Gomes, great-grandchildren Ailani Mociun, Kenya Mociun, Lilu Emayo, Lola Emayo, Alena Emayo, brothers Frank Carineo of Hanapepe, Ricky Carineo (Nadine) of Hanapepe, Jerry Carineo (Maria) of Hanamaulu, Edwin Carineo of Lihu‘e, sisters Rose Hosaka of Waimea, Joann Johanoson (Dale) of Hilo, Laverne Carineo of Missouri, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i. Visitation begins at 2 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at 3:15 p.m.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

March 21, 1932 — May 23, 2024
Peggy Becky Akina Hamili, 92, of Wahiawa, Hawai‘i, our beloved mother and a widow of 13 years, retired federal civil servant with the United States Department of Defense, long-time employee of Kemo‘o Farm restaurant, and owner of Peggy’s Cafe, passed away peacefully attended by her kind, loving, caregiver, Norma Maneja.
Mom will be interred with her beloved husband, Charles Kaina Hamili, Jr. and their daughter Theresa Gertrude Hamili and will be re-united with beloved father Alexander Auhana Akina and mother Violet Kawaiho‘onani “Kanani” Thompson Akina, step-mother Lily Ching Akina, brothers Arnubi Akina, Alexander Akina Jr., Benson “Pali” Akina, Donald Akina, and Douglas “Butch” Akina, sisters Edna Akina and Mildred Akina Wietecha.
She is survived by beloved step-mother Patricia Akina, sisters Cleria “Jackie” Akina Gomes, Ethelene Akina Coleman, sister-in-law Sandra Kahalekai Akina, daughters Ruby Hamili (Sandi), Liane Baker (John), sons Leon Hamili (Rebecca), Ruben Hamili, beloved hanai daughters Sabrina McKenna and children Tyler, Emily, and Sage, Diane Ho and children Keoki and Heidi, grandchildren Ryan Hamili, Toni Hamili Moniz (Kris), Chenoa Baker Yagin (Edison), Titania “Ti” Baker Nikaido (Keali‘ikai), beloved hanai granddaughter Desiree Rilveria (Kevin) and children Makoa and Makamae Kuni, beloved great-grandchildren Malia Hamili (Landon), Kristine Moniz, Ethan Moniz, Maile Hamili, Sophia Nikaido, Manatea Hamili, beloved great-great-grandchildren Ashton and Amish Pecpec, many beloved aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and pet companions.
Viewing and Service at Mililani Mortuary, Makai Chapel on July 11, 2024, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and Burial at Schofield Barracks Cemetery at 1 p.m. Aloha/casual attire. Flowers welcome.
