The request comes as the Kaua‘i Police Department (KPD) and Office of the Prosecuting Attorney continue to pursue leads in the case that stems from the murder of Amber Jackson, 57, of Kapa‘a.
Jackson’s body was discovered by a local pig hunter in a secluded wooded area in Kealia on July 3, 2010. She had been reported missing on June 23, 2010, the KPD said.
An autopsy found that Jackson died from blunt-force trauma to the head and she had injuries that were consistent with an assault. No arrests have been made in the case.
“Our goal has always been to find and hold accountable the individual(s) responsible for Amber’s death,” said KPD Assistant Chief Kalani Ke in a statement.
“We believe that there is someone out there with information that could help lead to the apprehension of the killer(s). If you have any information that could help solve this tragic death, we encourage you to come forward and speak with investigators.”
The Amber Jackson Justice Group, which was formed by family members and friends of the victim, is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Jackson’s killer.
