During 1993, I became friends with Keith Robinson (born 1941), the co-owner, with his brother, Bruce Robinson, of Ni‘ihau, and a descendant of Eliza Sinclair, who purchased Ni‘ihau on Jan. 20, 1864, from Kamehameha V in the names of her two sons for $10,000, as indicated in Royal Patent No. 2944, dated Feb. 23, 1864.

At the time we became friends, I was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in carrying out an entomological survey of Robinson lands in the ahupua’a of Makaweli, Hanapepe and on Ni‘ihau.
In 2015, Keith gave me an autographed copy of his 476-page book “Approach to Armageddon, One Christian’s Speculation About the End of the Age,” which took him more than 10 years to research and write, and was published in 2011.
In his book, Robinson — who was raised as a Presbyterian Protestant and was descended on his father’s side from strict Scotch Calvinists to whom extensive knowledge of the King James Bible was mandatory — expresses in a straightforward manner, with abundant detail, his considerable knowledge of Christian prophecies concerning the end of the world.
He wrote: “The Holy Scriptures of the Protestant Christian faith state that the present age will end in a global holocaust, one which will devastate the planet and decimate humanity. The only people who will escape and survive, will be those, who, through faith in God and Christ, have found God’s mercy and favor.”
In “Approach to Armageddon,” Robinson has brilliantly demonstrated his sincere conviction that the Scriptures will be fulfilled.
The Antichrist will lead the forces of evil in a worldwide nuclear war against the forces of God, which will result in the Apocalypse — the destruction of the global economy and the present world order.
And, the final battle of that war between evil and God, as revealed in the New Testament, will occur at a place called Armageddon.
Then Christ will return to rule the world for 1,000 years, the righteous dead will be resurrected, and the Earth will be restored, renewed and improved.
