Mary Lou Correa
Mary Lou Correa, of Kalaheo, passed away on May 17 ,2024, in Lihu‘e at the age of 90. She was born on Oct. 28, 1933, in Koloa. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband Thomas Harold Correa, grandson Gavin Ishii, parents Lawrence and Marie Medeiros, brothers Gilbert Medeiros and Ernest Medeiros.
She is survived by son Carl (Brenda) Correa of O‘ahu, daughters Linda (Ronald) Robles of Auburn, Washington, Collette Correa of Kalaheo, grandchildren Shane (Rick) Ishii-Huffer, Michael (Kanani) Correa, Brandon Correa, Asia Yasay, China Yasay, Celina (Ryan) Osgood, Ronald Robles, Jr., Sofia (Leo) Jurado, 11 great-grandchildren, sister Bernice Perreira of Kalaheo, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on June 21, 2024, at Holy Cross Parish in Kalaheo. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. and Mass will follow from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Manuel ‘Manny’ Lopez Jr.
Manuel “Manny” Lopez Jr. was called to the heavenly shores on April 17, 2024. He was 83. Manny was born on Kaua‘i on May 13, 1941.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eulogia and Manuel and sister Connie Ceda. But those he left behind will never forget him.
He is survived by his wife Estrelita, daughter Julie (Adam), son Nole (Marianne), nephew Eric Carbonel, sister Teodocia Lastimosa, grandchildren Athan Marsh, Noelani Lopez, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Manny had a passion for fishing, family and friends. His love for all three was unwavering.
A celebration of life will be held on June 14, 2024, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary in Koloa, Hawai‘i. Please join us at 10 a.m. for lunch and sharing of memories.
Evelyn Rivera Bonachita (Melendez)
Evelyn Rivera Bonachita (Melendez), of Hanapepe, passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2024, at the age of 88. She was born on Nov. 21,1935, in Lihu‘e.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Genaro Kenneth Bonachita, son Michael Bonachita, grandson Levi Tolbe, father Manuel Borilez, mother Dominica Veracruz Borilez, siblings Isabella Anduha, Victoria Cancel, Mary Watson, Louie Tory, Harold Melendez, Israel Melendez, Rita Wiltfang, Daniel Melendez, Andrew Borilez and Ronald Borilez.
She is survived by her children Judith Leilani (Andres Jr.) Carino, Jacquelyn Braun, Joseph Bonachita Jessie (Garrick) Barretto, Sharlene (Barney) Valdez, Kareen Gardner, Debbie (Eddie) Ponting, Beverly (Anthony) Kauahi, grandchildren Malia, Mathew, Kiana, Andres III, Keanu, Alisa, Tania, Ryenn, Tia, Taylor, Travis, Janai, Kenlyn, Keneke, Jonathan, Kalen, David, Zach, Toni, Wanda, Michael Jr., Janelle, Naomi, Michael, Carla, 43 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Julie Bonachita, sister Sylvia Hardy, sister-in-law Pauline Borilez, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kalaheo Ward on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. followed by service at 11 a.m.

Emilia ‘Loling’ Respicio Galicinao
Emilia “Loling” Respicio Galicinao, of Kaumakani, passed away on May 21, 2024, in Waimea, Kaua‘i, at the age of 80. She was born on Jan. 9, 1944, in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She was an agricultural field hand for Olokele Sugar Co. and Gay & Robinson.
She was preceded in death by husband Gregorio Cardona Galicinao, parents Braulio and Maria Lagundino Respicio, siblings Isabel, Rubio, Melicio, and Emilio Respicio.
She is survived by son Wayne Galicinao of Kaumakani, daughters Ella Galicinao of Makaweli, Georgeatte (Fred) Galicinao-Cayaban of ‘Ele‘ele, Tina Galicinao (Curtis Diamond) of Lihu‘e, grandchildren Ashley Rose Galicinao-Ripley of Honolulu, Bryson Cayaban of Texas, BreeAnn (Jordan) Cayaban Pineault of Texas, Braelyn Cayaban of Colorado, Justin Malabe (Tisha Remata) of Hanapepe, Javin Malabe of Lihu‘e, Tiani Malabe of Lihu‘e, great-grandchildren Qhaysen Remata Malabe of Hanapepe, Qhaiyah Malabe of Hanapepe, sister Cristina Respicio Gonzales of the Philippines, cousins Marcelo Garvida, Lydia Beltran and Myrna Cacal of California, numerous nieces, nephews and other cousins.
A service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Visitation from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., and burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Floyd ‘Floyd Boy/Fred’ Libre
Floyd “Floyd Boy/Fred” Libre, of Hanapepe, passed away on May 7, 2024, in Hanapepe at the age of 40. He was born on Oct. 30, 1984, in Waimea. He was a Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
Floyd is survived by his parents Floyd Libre, Sr. and Peggy Libre of Hanapepe, sisters Tiffany Libre of Hanapepe, Krystal Libre of Hanapepe, Brittany Libre (Mark Braun) of Hanapepe, hanai brother Ola of Hanapepe, nieces and nephews Kayden, Ky-Mani, Zennen, Ki-Lyn, Lanakila, Makani, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. with a celebration of life at 11 a.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.
