Happy Father’s Day, Kaua‘i!
Happy Father’s Day, Kaua‘i!
Kukui Grove Center is celebrating fathers on Saturday with Harvey Maeda, Raymond Aki and the Kaua‘i Classic Cars on Saturday at the parking lot between Long’s and Ross … lots of time to stop and talk story after The King’s Parade that starts at 9 a.m. on Rice Street.
Joining the cars, Harvey said the event is a fundraiser for Kelvin Moniz and the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank … bring what you can, donate what you can. Of course, Rick Rasay will be spinning appropriate music and Cruz Control will be at the stage area.
Of course, The King’s Parade takes place in downtown Lihu‘e, ending with the ho‘olaule‘a with a bunch of vendors and entertainment lineup at the lawn of the historic County Building.
And, Tropic Care Kaua‘i is in full swing with no cost health care in general medicine, eye care, dentistry, and for the first time, dermatology (at the Kapa‘a Middle School site, only) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kapa‘a Middle School and the Waimea Canyon Middle School (June 15 is the last day at this site). The Kaua‘i Bus is also at no cost until June 20.
On Sunday (no bon dance, this weekend), check out the Nawiliwili Yacht Club Keiki Father’s Day Fishing Tournament … registration starts at 10 a.m., and each keiki registration includes lunch with chances for any of those prizes. Action takes place at the Kaua‘i Sailing Association building in the Nawiliwili Small Boat Harbor.
Stay safe!
