Mary Lou Correa
Mary Lou Correa, of Kalaheo, passed away on May 17, 2024, in Lihu‘e at the age of 90. She was born on Oct. 28, 1933, in Koloa. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband Thomas Harold Correa, grandson Gavin Ishii, parents Lawrence and Marie Medeiros, brothers Gilbert Medeiros and Ernest Medeiros.
She is survived by son Carl (Brenda) Correa of O‘ahu, daughters Linda (Ronald) Robles of Auburn, Washington, Collette Correa of Kalaheo, eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, sister Bernice Perreira of Kalaheo, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on June 21, 2024, at Holy Cross Parish in Kalaheo. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. and Mass will follow from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Evelyn Rivera Bonachita (Melendez)
Evelyn Rivera Bonachita (Melendez), of Hanapepe, passed away on May 28, 2024, at home at the age of 88. She was born on Nov. 21, 1935, in Lihu‘e.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Genaro Kenneth Bonachita, son Michael Bonachita, grandson Levi Tolbe, father Manuel Borilez, mother Dominica Veracruz Borilez, siblings Isabella Anduha, Victoria Cancel, Mary Watson, Louie Tory, Harold Melendez, Israel Melendez, Rita Wiltfang, Daniel Melendez, Andrew Borilez and Ronald Borilez.
She is survived by her children Judith Leilani (Andres Jr.) Carino, Jacquelyn Braun, Joseph Bonachita, Jessie (Garrick) Barretto, Sharlene (Barney) Valdez, Kareen Gardner, Debbie (Eddie) Ponting, Beverly (Anthony) Kauahi, daughter-in-law Julie Bonachita, sister Sylvia Hardy, sister-in-law Pauline Borilez, 25 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kalaheo Ward on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. followed by service at 11 a.m.

Leilani J. Arruda, of Kekaha, passed away on June 2, 2024, at home at the age of 86. She was born on Aug. 31, 1937, in Honolulu, O‘ahu. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by father William Lopes, mother Gussie Ahnee, daughter Roxanne Arruda, granddaughter Trinette Vegas, brothers Lawerence Ahnee, Thomas Ahnee, William “Bill” Kaiwa, Norman Ahnee, sisters Gladys Sotelo, Shirley Kauhi and Rochelle Ahnee.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Joaquin Nicholas Arruda, Jr., sons Joaquin Nicholas Arruda III (Arlene) of Kaua‘i, Richard Arruda (Sandra) of Kaua‘i, David Arruda (Glenda) of Kaua‘i, daughter Sandra Vegas (Sam) of Maui, 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, brother Morris Ahnee (Betty) of Maui, sisters June Sayers (Roy) of Nevada, Lavern Pacheco (Cecil) of O‘ahu, numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be announced at a later date.

Michael Manzano Abigania
Michael Manzano Abigania, of Mission Viejo, California, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2024. He was born in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on June 8, 1952.
Michael is survived by his wife, Arminda Pascual Abigania; daughters, Sherry (Franklin Jr.) Matthews, Michelle (Victor) Abigania-Libunao, Melany (Eric) Abigania-Chun; grandchildren, Makana, Kainani Libunao, Malia, Micah, Jacob, Jade Matthews; brothers, Louis (Edith) Abigania, Robert (Doris) Abigania, Richard (Tess) Abigania, Glenn (Sharon) Abigania, Reynold Abigania; sisters, Nancy Abigania, Vicky Abigania, Christine (Bernard Sr.) Mabini, Alice (Reggie) Hunt, and Brenda (Ho-Tai) Zerba.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Rufo and Mary Abigania and sister Cynthia Dela Cruz.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 8, at St. John’s Episcopal Church located in ‘Ele‘ele, at 10 a.m. Casual attire is requested.
Magdalina ‘Maggie’ Mission
Magdalina “Maggie” Mission passed away on May 14, 2024, in ‘Ele‘ele at the age of 87. She was born on Sept. 2, 1936, in Ewa, O‘ahu.
She was preceded in death by parents Mariano Lahep and Eulalia Melchor, brother Floyd Lahep, sisters Lina Agcaoili, Mercy Honorato, Pauline Gonzalez and Irene Carter.
She is survived by sons Jeffrey Mission (Toi) of Hanapepe, Derwin Abalos of Lihu‘e, Richard Missions, Jr. (Meina) of Las Vegas, Nevada, El Abalos, Jr. of Cerritos, California, hanai son Carlos Garcia of Serratos, California, daughters Betty Carbullido of Moreno Valley, California, Cynthia Sone (Dereck) of Lihu‘e, Theresa DeLair of Waimea, Janean Blouin (Ray) of ‘Ele‘ele, Cindy Igne (Michael) of Kaumakani, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, sisters Sally Cabalo of Puhi, Fely Cabotaje of Gardena, California, numerous nieces and nephews.

Myra Otei Nishiie, of Kilauea, passed away on May 23, 2024, at Garden Isle Rehab & Nursing at the age of 99. She was born May 28, 1924, at Lawa‘i Stable. She was a chambermaid.
She was preceded in death by husband Masayoshi Nishiie and son Patrick Tadao Nishiie.
She is survived by daughter Evelyn (Shawn) Conant of Kilauea, grandchildren Mavi (Bryce) Kaneg, Shay Lehuakona Conant, great-grandchildren Zylan and Umiko, sisters-in-law Chizue Nishiie Kimura of Hanapepe, Stella Kaneko of Kalaheo, numerous nieces and nephews.
A service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i. Visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at 10 a.m. The family requests aloha attire and welcomes flowers.
