HANALEI — The Kaua‘i Bus is running a special shuttle during the closure of Kuhio Highway at Hanalei Hill on Wednesday.
The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) has scheduled the shuttle to run on June 5 to accommodate the intermittent full closures of Kuhio Highway at Hanalei Hill.
The closure will be between Hanalei Plantation Road and ‘Ohio Road and will occur every 30-min beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m. The Kaua‘i Bus will be operating the shuttle, free of cost to assist passengers between Princeville and Hanalei.
The shuttle will service the two bus stops in Hanalei and the one bus stop near the Princeville Library, and continuously rotate throughout the day.
Route 400 (Hanalei to Lihu‘e) and Route 500 (Lihu‘e to Hanalei) will start and at the Princeville bus stop on June 5, due to the highway closure. Passengers on these mainline routes will continue to pay normal bus fares.
