LIHU‘E — A number of lane closures are planned in the days ahead from the westside to the northside of the island, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in an update on Friday.
The following is a list of scheduled projects for the workweek ending June 7. All work is weather permitting.
Kalihiwai
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for highway reconstruction, between Kahiliholo Road and Ka Haku Road, on Sunday, June 2, through Friday, June 7, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kaumakani
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for construction of fire breaks, between mile post 18.5 and the vicinity of Kaumakanai Road, on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kipu
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for guardrail repair, between mile post 3.3 and 16.3, in the vicinity of Haul Cane Road and Puna Road, on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Koke‘e
A single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) is possible in either direction for road widening and paving, between mile post 11.5 and 14, through Friday, June 7, from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Lihu‘e
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in the northbound direction for slope stabilization, in the vicinity of Hoolaulea Way and Mokoi Street, in the vicinity of Royal Sonesta, on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for striping and sign installation, in the vicinity of Kuene Street and Kapule Highway, on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass cutting and guardrail clearing, in the vicinity of Ho‘omana Road and Kipu Road, on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Mana
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for shoulder grading, in the vicinity of Lighthouse Road and Tartar Drive, on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Moloa‘a
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 19 and 21, in the vicinity of Waiakalua Street, on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Nawiliwili
A right lane closure on Nawiliwili Road (Route 58) is possible in either direction for grass cutting and guardrail clearing, in the vicinity of Waapa Road and Lala Road, on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Princeville
An ntermittent full closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road is possible for wire mesh installation via helicopter, on Wednesday, June 5, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Full closure will run every hour on the bottom of the hour (from the 30-minute mark to the 60-minute mark). From the top of the hour vehicles will be allowed through the work area until the start of the next closure.
Wailua
A right lane closure on Maalo Road (Route 583) is possible in either direction for trimming of Hau bush and trees, between mile post 3.32 and 3.72, on Saturday, June 1 from 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
A right lane closure on Kapa‘a Bypass Road (Route 560) is possible in either direction for clearing of brush for bridge inspection, between mile post 1.42 to 1.57, in the vicinity of Kuhio Highway and Olohena Road on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Wapouli
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for installation of waterline crossing, between Aleka Loop and Wana Road, on Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for ashphalt reconstruction and resurfacing, between mile post 8.11 and 9.78, in the vicinity of Akia Road and Mailihuna Road on Monday, June 3 through Friday, June 7, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
