Laurie Ho, of the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau, said the new Mother’s Filipino Comfort Food trailer was cute, as Frances and Geraldine Baniaga tried to adjust the new pink trailer (it showed up at the Kapa‘a Branch opening of the Garden Island Federal Credit Union with free plate lunches, last month) into their space at the Pau Hana Market.

Kudos to Edwin Vea, of the Beach House, (they have a representative chef for the Kaua‘i Poke Fest, too?) for getting nearly all of the 60 vendors coming out on Sunday where Jock Goodman was able to sneak away to get photos of Acid Drop and a different perspective of surfers.
Kaua‘i High juniors Adeline Bechard and Neva Leung were capitalizing on their creativity to help fund their dream two-week visit to Italy to learn some of the language and better understand some of the culture. The pair sold tote bags featuring a design by Adeline (she also makes lei) and printing by Neva.
And check out the Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery starting Saturday, and continuing through Sunday and Monday, when the Garden Island Arts Council Boroboro Boutique presents live sewing at its pop-up Sew-a-thon from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all three days. There will be daily workshops, Boroboro Boutique sales and artist Kathleen Ho will be available for artist’s talk.
The Sew-a-thon is a fundraiser for a new mosaic mural, “Ka Pae ‘Aina O Hawai‘i Nei,” which is planned for installation at one of the walls at the Kilauea Lighthouse wildlife refuge.
