The Mokihana Club also provides scholarships to the Kaua‘i Community College Nursing students, and will be hosting a Wine, Cheese and Chocolate tasting event on Saturday at the college’s Fine Arts Auditorium from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. to benefit the club’s Nursing Scholarships. Tickets for the 21 and older event are available online at themokihanaclub.org.
Gini Kapali of the Kapa‘a High School Foundation said this year’s process went a lot smoother since the majority of the student applications came in digitally.
Congratulations to Ron and Carolyn Morinishi who were able to successfully coordinate the Purple Heart Award on Tuesday for Kazuyoshi Inouye to Kazuyoshi’s neice Sarah Date, who was unable to attend the Pearl Harbor award ceremony.

Kawakami is a Kiwanis member) on presenting three Kaua‘i High School Key Club members with the club’s scholarships for 2024 …President Cheryl Shintani said she wanted to see the Northern Lights, but it was cloudy when she woke up.
