For those who can break away from town, the Pacific Missile Range Facility at Mana is hosting the Fourth annual PMRF Auto Skills Center Car Show at Shenanigans from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with no cover charge. The event will feature cars, bikes, trucks, SUVs, entertainment, food and product vendors.

Closer to town, the Mother’s Day Family Fun Fundraiser on Saturday at the Kaua‘i Philippine Cultural Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. is a good way to learn more about The Little Babes Club, and the indoor playground they’re planning to build on Kaua‘i.
The fun day (there’s also the Swim Kaua‘i Aquatics home swim meet taking place at the next door YMCA pool) offers live entertainment, a bunch of prize giveaways, miniature horse, craft vendors, food and more for a nominal admission (it is a fundraiser) with the proceeds going toward opening the indoor playground.
And don’t forget the andagi and an-dog-gi at the Grove Farm (they already gave a separate sponsorship) sponsored booth to help the Waimea High School JROTC cadets get to Europe where they (they’re the largest group in the all-Hawai‘i JROTC unit) will participate in the 80th Anniversary of D-Day … Capt. Vince Freeman said this is the last planned D-Day observance, and the JROTC group will represent not only themselves and their school, but the state, the nation, and all the veterans that were involved in the liberation … the andagi and an-dog-gi make a great pick-me-up lunch at the Grove Farm Market at the Puhi park open field that starts every Saturday (they’ve got a craft fair component coming the first Saturday in June) from 9:30 a.m.
Happy Mother’s Day, Kaua‘i!
