HANAPEPE — The Department of Pubic Works announced that portions of Awawa Road from Akea Road are scheduled to close for tree removal.
The closure is necessary so that it allows the County of Kaua’i, Roads Division, in conjunction with the state of Hawai‘i, Department of Land and Natural Resources, to conduct necessary tree cutting and tree removal work. The work is weather permitting.
The closure is through May 10, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a break from 11 a.m. to noon.
Only local traffic will be allowed for residents needing access to and from their properties. Mororists are advised to expect delays as crews cut, clean, and process overhanging trees and branches.
