Wanda Sanae Shimizu
Wanda Sanae Shimizu of Kapaa, Kauai passed away on May 2, 2024, at Garden Island Healthcare-Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 63. She was a retired Traffic Operation Supervisor at the State of Hawaii, Judiciary, Fifth Judicial Circuit.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Hatsue and Haruo Shimada, paternal grandparents Juichi and Kiyoko Doi, father and mother in law Noboru and Eiko Shimizu.
Wanda is survived by her husband Ford Shimizu, son Kyle (Apryl) Shimizu of Kapaa, daughter Joyce (Ryan) Kunselman of Honolulu, one grandchild, fur baby Pua, favorite niece Shana Kuriki of Kapaa, parents Stanley K. and Catherine S. Doi of Kapaa, brother Wesley Doi of Kapaa, brother in laws Blaine (Alpha) Shimizu of Honolulu, Dean (Lynn) Shimizu of Honolulu, sisters Janice Doi of Kapaa, Cheryl (Curtis) Kuriki of Kapaa, Susan Doi of Lihue, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be announced later.

Mason Rikio Fujimoto
Mason Rikio Fujimoto, of Hanapepe, passed away on April 30, 2024, in Waimea at the age of 43. He was born on Feb. 18, 1981, in Waimea. He was a cook and pre-school teacher.
He was preceded in death by his twin-brother Anson Fujimoto, grandparents Basilio Blanza and Esperanza Cabacungan Funtanilla, Robert G. and Hatsumi Akiyama Fujimoto.
He is survived by his son Gavin Fujimoto-Foster of Hanapepe, grandchild Xhysten Fujimoto, parents Bobby and Toni Fujimoto of Hanapepe, brother Craig Fujimoto of Hanapepe, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i. Visitation is from 4 to 5 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at 5 p.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Francisco ‘Cisco’ Campos Jr.
Francisco “Cisco” Campos Jr. passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Straub Medical Center in Honolulu, at the age of 76 years old. He was born on March 27, 1948, in Waimea, Kaua‘i.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force who served in the Vietnam War. He worked for the County of Kaua‘i Public Works Department Solid Waste Division for over 20 years and then retired as a baggage supervisor for United Airlines in 2016.
He is survived by his five daughters Tasha (Tommy) Stetter of Illinois, Leanna Campos (Rueben Games) of Waimea, Leilani Campos of Honolulu, Laola Campos (Chad Ishida) of Waimea, Noe Campos (Kawai Rapozo) of Waimea, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sister Fely Dement of Hanapepe, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i, beginning at 2 p.m., and burial will be on Monday, May 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Clayton K. Kawada
Clayton K. Kawada of Hanapepe, Kauai, passed away on April 20, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born on July 31, 1951 in Hawai‘i. He was a Parks & Rec Supervisor for the State of Hawaii.
He is preceded in death by his brother Randall Kawada, parents Masami and Hazel Kawada
Clayton is survived by his wife Aurora A. Kawada, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brother Wilbert Kawada (Sun-U) of Oahu, sister Cathy Nakamoto of Japan, numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A burial service will be held at Kauai Memorial Gardens on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 10 a.m. The family request casual attire and flowers are welcome.

Royce Takeo Ebesu
Royce Takeo Ebesu, of Kapa‘a, passed away on March 27, 2024, in Kapa‘a at the age of 92. He was born on Sept. 23, 1931, in Kapa‘a. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a retired Postmaster.
He was preceded in death by father Shuichi Ebesu, mother Tsuruko Torii, son Royce Ebesu Jr., brothers Robert Shinke, Joseph Ebesu and sister Thelma Sonobe.
He is survived by wife Helen Ebesu, sons Glenn (Linda) Ebesu of Kapa‘a, Scott Ebesu of Lihu‘e, daughter-in-law Janey Ebesu, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, stepbrother Edward Torii, sister Amy Morita, stepsister Mildred Matsuyoshi, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e. Visitation starts at 10 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at 11 a.m. The family requests casual attire.

Walter ‘Freckles’ James Smith Jr.
Walter “Freckles” James Smith Jr. of Kapa‘a, Kaua‘i, passed away on April 19, 2024, at his home at the age of 89. Walter was born in Hawai‘i on Nov. 22, 1934. He was the President for Smiths Motor Boat Service Inc.
He was preceded in death by parents Walter and Emily Smith Sr., son Kahanu Smith, sisters Charlotte Kaui, Pelma Larsen, Grace Apana and brother Malcom Smith.
Walter is survived by his wife Mokihana Smith, sons Kamika Smith, Kaleo (Stacie) Smith, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Smith’s Tropical Paradise on the Wailua River on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. with services to follow.
