Charity Walk road closures begin at 7 a.m. Saturday

LIHU‘E — A number of road closures will take place ahead of the 2024 Charity Walk on Saturday.

All roads along the walk route will be shuttered with assistance from the Kauai Police Department. The closures will begin at 7 a.m. and last until approximately 8:30 a.m.

During the road closures the Kaua‘i Bus, Route 70-Līhu‘e Shuttle will not have access to stops on the Charity Walk route along Rice Street. Riders are advised to utilize the shelter on Eiwa Street during the closure.

Motorists are also advised to add additional time to get to their destinations as traffic delays will occur. Officers will be monitoring all road closures, including Ho’olako Street (from Vidihna Stadium to Rice Street), Rice Street (from Ho’olako Street to Umi Street), Umi Street and Ninini Point Road.

Ahukini Road and the Kauai Veterans Memorial Highway will not be closed, however participants will walk the road shoulder to complete the walk. Drivers are urged to remain vigilant and be aware of all surroundings.
