Elden Layne Nakashima
Elden Layne Nakashima, age 68, passed away on Feb. 14, 2024, at Straub Hospital on O‘ahu. He was born on Oct. 19, 1955.
He was preceded in death by father Hitoshi Nakashima and mother Hazel Nakashima.
Elden is survived by brothers Dennis Nakashima of Kapa‘a, Gerald (Amy) Nakashima of O‘ahu, sister Jorene (Guy) Solusod of Lihu‘e, numerous nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on May 11, 2024, at Lihu‘e Christian Church. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. with service to follow at 11 a.m. The family requests no flowers and casual attire.
O‘ahu Mortuary and Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Rodrigo Ronolo Dikilato
Rodrigo Ronolo Dikilato, of Kapa‘a, passed away on April 12, 2024, at Wilcox Medical Center at the age 65. He was born on Sept. 13, 1958, in Maliit Digos Hagonoy Dvo. Sur, Philippines. He was a house person at Sheraton Coconut Beach Resort.
He was preceded in death by mother Valeriana Dikilato and brother Godofredo Dikilato.
He is survived by wife Merilyn Dikilato, daughter Marue Dikilato, sons Kenneth (Marilyn) Dikilato, Chester (Cierra) Dikilato, father Merquicides (Hilda) Dikilato, brothers Benjamin (Pacita) Dikilato, Victor (Janita) Dikilato, Rey (Rema) Dikilato, sisters Carlita (Zimo) Mata, Paulina Ypil, Jeanette Dikilato and four grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 10, 2024, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Kapa‘a. Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m. and Mass will be celebrated at 11:45 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Catherine Cemetery.

Opal Healani Sui Len Trembath
Opal Healani Sui Len Trembath, 87, of Lihu‘e, peacefully passed surrounded by loved ones on March 29, 2024, in Lihu‘e. She was born on Oct. 17, 1936, in Huleia Valley. She retired as the Kupuna Program Director at Alu Like.
She was preceded in death by parents Samuel and Eva Ching, husband Charles Trembath, siblings Harold Ching, Clesson Ching, Lester Ching and Wilford Ching.
She is survived by children Debbie Lee-Jackson (George Jackson), Richard Lee (Michele Lee), Kristi Lee (Claurino Bueno), 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service is Saturday, May 4, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lihu‘e Ward Chapel. Viewing begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. The family requests that you wear purple attire.
