LIHU‘E — The Hawai‘i Land Trust (HILT) is accepting applications for its Kahili Preserve Summer Internship Program on Kaua‘i.
The internship runs from July 10 through 26 and takes place Wednesdays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The internship involves enrichment and restoration activities at HILT’s 17.6-acre Kahili Beach Preserve, as well as service-learning visits to nearby partner organization sites that will provide a deeper understanding of coastal land management.
The internship is limited to three high school students ages 16 through 18 years of age. A $1,000 stipend will be awarded to each student on completion of the program.
The Hawai‘i Land Trust is Hawai‘i’s statewide local nonprofit land trust that protects, stewards and connects people to the lands that sustain Hawai‘i.
The Kahili Beach Preserve is a popular surf spot for Kaua‘i’s North Shore residents and is known as “Rock Quarry.”
