Kudos to the Girl Scouts of Hawai‘i on getting all those people out to Kukui Grove Center on Saturday for the all-troop fire safety exercise before the monthly Movie Night.
Kudos to the Girl Scouts of Hawai‘i on getting all those people out to Kukui Grove Center on Saturday for the all-troop fire safety exercise before the monthly Movie Night.
The Kaua‘i Community College (commencement exercises coming up on May 10 at the Puhi campus) Nursing Club students exchanged their stethoscopes and bandages for scissors and glue as they volunteered (how about the competition to build edible fires) to help cut stickers and tattoos for the make-it-and-take it bags and other goodies.
Over at the Kaua‘i Beer Company, Mark Perriello was among those trying the ramen option — Do Buta Ramen (Larry Feinstein said “BTW, it is really good!”) is open on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., or until they sell out … Ramen chef Aaron Matson said they do other pop-ups in other areas of Kaua‘i, too.
Larry said they just got through its Sensory Sips: Pints for a Purpose fundraiser that helped children on the Autism Spectrum. Any nonprofit organization in search of a free venue to host an event (Kaua‘i Beer Company also helps the Kaua‘i Humane Society) is welcome to come talk story.
OK, time to go check out the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i and the Denim Day program on raising awareness on preventing sexual violence (kudos to the YWCA of Kaua‘i on the blessing of the Wiwo‘ole transition housing program).
And, don’t forget, Saturday is the annual Troy Barboza Law Enforcement Torch Run and the Special Olympics field games at Vidinha Stadium.
