LIHU‘E — The County of Kaua‘i Department of Liquor Control will soon open online renewal applications for liquor licenses.
“If you would like to start your renewal process early, you can do so online starting from April 16,” said Director of the Department of Liquor Control Leo Sandoval-Reyes.
Renewals will be available online at https://www.kauai.gov/Government/Departments-Agencies/Liquor-Control.
To further assist customers with the renewal process the department created an instructional video on YouTube at https://tinyurl.com/Kauai-Liquor-Control.
Applicants can also mail renewal forms or hand deliver to the Liquor Department beginning April 19.
“We strongly recommend that all our licensees use our online renewal portal to speed up the process and avoid delays,” added Sandoval-Reyes.
Completed applications must be received on or before June 30, 2024, to avoid a penalty. Any licensee who fails to submit the renewal on or before June 30, 2024, must stop all liquor sales until a renewal has been submitted and approved.
Every licensee must submit the following completed documentation with their renewal application:
• A copy of the notarized application for renewal form.
• A copy of your current Hawaii Tax Clearance Certificate.
• A copy of your current liquor liability insurance coverage.
• Correct renewal fee payment.
For further questions or notarization services for your application renewal, please contact the Department of Liquor Control at 808-241-4966 or email us at liquor@kauai.gov.
Hoping getting a liquor license will require restaurants and bars to have protocols in place to deal with customers who are intoxicated. We need to take steps to assure people are not driving drunk on our roads.
