The roads were still wet on Saturday, so that meant we had a rain delay while the new tennis courts at Kaua‘i High School (Waimea coaches Ryan Kagawa and Scott Nakamatsu said the Menehune crossed the bridge on Saturday!) had to dry off before Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation tennis could resume (Keith Burgess took advantage of the rain delay to get lunch from Paradise Grinds that was open on Saturday) … Dave Hinazumi said coming to practice gave him the right parking space, so he could watch the matches from his car.

The rain (and cold wind!) saw a couple of Sanctuary Ocean Count sites (not Ahukini where Marga Goosen and Colleen Ogino retreated to their metal cocoon) cancel out … regular ocean shoreline observer Bob Jasper saw three of those boobies! … because the visibility was cut back.
Foster Brown III (he’s a musician and has a radio show in addition to being the head cheese at The Village food truck!) took advantage of the break to refill his sauces (they were smashed during the KIF boys volleyball games at the Kaua‘i High School gymnasium!) at the weekly Grove Farm Market (Marlene Duarte said they’re got the crafters with the Department of Water coming on Saturday’s market … yep, this is the first Saturday of an even-numbered month) where Jessica Montoya Cristobal was holding down The Salty Wahine tent because Laura Cristobal was taking care of the table at the Easter Kaua‘i Made (Melissia Sugai said it was not as busy because a lot of people are at the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival on the Big Island) event at the Sheraton Kaua‘i at Coconut Beach.
