KAPA‘A — A warehouse fire on Apopo Road in Kapa‘a caused an estimated $350,000 in damage on Thursday evening.
The Kauai Fire Department (KFD) said firefighters were dispatched after receiving a report of a structure fire shortly after 8:45 p.m.
Upon arrival shortly after 8:55 p.m., according to preliminary reports, firefighters discovered a 20-foot by 50-foot metal building and its contents on fire. Firefighters controlled the blaze at approximately 9:40 p.m. before fully extinguishing the fire.
Following the firefighters efforts to extinguish the fire, the KFD Fire Prevention Bureau investigators took over the scene to conduct an investigation. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Firefighters cleared the scene shortly before 11:25 p.m.
Personnel from the Kaiakea, Kapa‘a and Lihu‘e fire stations, Rescue 3, Tanker 1, the Kauai Police Department and an on-duty battalion chief responded to the incident.
