LIHU‘E — A number of road-related projects are scheduled in the days ahead with work planned from the westside to the north end of the island, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in a weekly update on Friday.
The following is a list of projects for the workweek ending March 22. All work is weather permitting.
Anahola
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 16 to 18, on Monday, March 18, through Friday, March. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Eleele
A ane shift in the right lane on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in the westbound direction for sewer line crossing, between Halewili Road and Hanapepe Road, on Monday, March 18, through Friday, March. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hanapepe
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for shoulder grading, between Lele Road and Kaumakani Road, on Monday, March 18, through Friday, March. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kalaheo
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for shoulder subgrade and asphalt paving, between mile post 10.7 and 11, in the vicinity of Kuli Road and Lauoho Road, nightly through Friday, March. 22, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Travel in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow). Use of alternate routes is recommended.
A roving right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 12 and 14.9, in the vicinity of Halewili Road and Laulea Street, on Monday, March 18, through Friday, March. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for shoulder grading, between mile post 0 and 3.8, in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway, on Monday, March 18, through Friday, March. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kealia
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for cold planing and paving, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, through Friday, March 22, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Princeville
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in either direction for debris removal and hauling of slope material between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from Monday, March 18, through Friday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.
Puhi
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for excavation of existing asphalt, installation of base material and asphalt paving, between mile post 2.1 and 2.7, Kipu Road and Anonui Road, nightly through Friday, March. 22, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. . Travel in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow).
Wailua
A right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 0.5 and 2.5, on Monday, March 18, through Friday, March 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible for slope stabilization in the vicinity of the Opaeka‘a Falls lookout, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until further notice. Two-way traffic is controlled by flaggers or temporary traffic signals.
Wainiha
A full closure of Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible for bridge repair, between Ananalu Road and Ala Eke Road in the vicinity of Wainiha Bridge, nightly beginning on Monday, March 18 through Friday, March. 22, from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
