Wendy Castillo, the principal of St. Theresa School in Kekaha, announced the school’s annual big carnival is coming back on April 19-20 at the school’s campus. Steve Kelly and Cherry Cherry (remember them from the Waimea Town Celebration?) will be returning to Kaua‘i to headline the carnival that provides a big chunk of the school’s operation funding … you also get good food, prizes and fellowship as a benefit for supporting the school’s continuing legacy of education.
This weekend, we celebrate National Agriculture Week through the collaborative efforts of the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau, its many partner organizations, and Kukui Grove Center that will liven up the event with a preview of Easter and Saint Patrick’s Day on Sunday. Everything starts popping from 10 a.m. on Saturday and should be continuing until 2 p.m. with free seeds, free seedlings (what? Moloka‘i squash?), free information and a cooking demonstration led by Chef Steve Nakata and the Kaua‘i Community College culinary arts kids featuring Kaua‘i Shrimp and Aloun Farms locally grown produce.
And, when does the Easter Bunny show up? Or, are we going to get Leprechauns?
