LIHU‘E — The Hawai‘i State Library System is celebrating Women’s History Month 2024 by presenting “Taylor Swift Craft and Karaoke Night for Teens” on March 13 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Lihu‘e Public Library.
LIHU‘E — The Hawai‘i State Library System is celebrating Women’s History Month 2024 by presenting “Taylor Swift Craft and Karaoke Night for Teens” on March 13 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Lihu‘e Public Library.
During the event, teens and other youths will make friendship bracelets and sing Taylor Swift songs while hanging out. Bracelet supplies are limited and will be available while supplies last. In partnership with the Friends of the Lihu‘e Public Library, attendees can enjoy snacks and refreshments.
This program is best for youths from 12 to 18 years old.
For Women’s History Month, we celebrate Taylor Swift’s fierce fight for women’s equality and the unprecedented impact she has made in the music industry, on the economy, social justice, and popular culture, the Hawai‘i State Library System said.
Women’s History Month has been celebrated since 1981 to celebrate the contributions women have made to the United States and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields.
“We believe in empowering women and recognizing their achievements, not just during Women’s History Month, but daily,” said Lori Barrett of the Kaua‘i Committee on the Status of Women. “By consciously choosing to support women-owned businesses, we can positively impact our community and foster an environment that encourages the success of female entrepreneurs.”
