LIHU‘E — A number of road-related projects are scheduled for the island of Kaua‘i with work stretching from ‘Ele‘ele to Princeville, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in a weekly update on Friday.
The following is a list of the projects for the workweek ending March 15. All work is weather permitting.
Anahola
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 15 to 18, in the vicinity of Aliomanu Road on Monday, March 11 through Friday, March. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
‘Ele‘ele
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for shoulder grading between Laulea Street and Eleele Road, on Monday, March 11, through Friday, March. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in the westbound direction for sewer line crossing between Halewili Road and Hanapepe Road, on Monday, March 11, through Friday, March. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kalaheo
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for storm drain installation and paving, between mile post 10.7 and 11, in the vicinity of Kuli Road and Lauoho Road, through Friday, March. 15, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 12 and 14.8, in the vicinity of Halewili Road and Laulea Street, on Monday, March 11, through Friday, March. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kealia
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for cold planing and paving, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, through Friday, March 15, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Lihu‘e
A right lane closure on Nawiliwili Road (Route 58) is possible in either direction for tree trimming between Lala Road and Nawiliwili Road, from Monday, March 11, through Friday, March. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Princeville
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in either direction for debris removal and hauling of slope material, between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from Monday, March 11, through Friday, March 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.
Puhi
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for excavation of existing asphalt, installation of base material and pouring of concrete, between Anonui Street and Kipu Road, through Friday, March. 15, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Wailua
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for KIUC to do high voltage work, between mile post 5.6 and 5.9, in the vicinity of the mauka Wailua Bridge nightly on Wednesday, March. 13, through Friday, March 15, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. All traffic will be routed to the makai Wailua Bridge during work hours.
A right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 0.5 and 2.5, on Monday, March 11, through Friday, March 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible in the vicinity of the Opaeka‘a Falls lookout, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until further notice for slope stabilization.
