LIHU‘E — Island School boys soccer and Kaua‘i High School girls soccer earned the Central Pacific Bank Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation titles for the 2024 season.
In the KIF soccer all-stars listing released on Monday, Island School boys placed 10 individuals out of the 14 available positions, and the Kaua‘i girls placed seven players on the list, including sophomore Aileah Villatora grabbing “Player of the Year” honor.
With the CPB KIF title in hand, both the Voyagers and the Red Raider wahine advanced to Division II state playoffs where the Red Raiders, getting top seed honor in the championship play, finished in fourth place after dropping to Kapa‘a High School.
The Voyagers, seeded No. 3 in DII play, advanced to earn the school’s first state title after upsetting top seed Kamehameha School-Hawai‘i 1-0 in the finals.
Voyagers William Buford, Ignacio Elzardia, Javin Hennessy, Ikaika Havas, Sawyer Rogoff, and Titus Schweitzer were named to the Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association DII all-tournament team where Micah Lindman was the Most Outstanding.
