WAIMEA — Girl Scouts from Waimea Troop 824 wanted to know what was the favorite flavor of Girl Scout cookies of people using the sidewalk fronting the historic Waimea Theatre on Saturday.
The scouts had established one of the first booth sales sites for this year’s batch of Girl Scout cookies after the troop leaders picked up their allocations for preorders and anticipated booth sales through the program’s deadline of March 31.
The Waimea troop scouts were performing during the Girl Scouts of Hawai‘i Cookie Weekend that wrapped up on Sunday and includes individual sales, booth sales and digital cookie. Troop cookie managers may select the special GS Cookie University patch during the final reward submissions.
This year’s Girl Scout cookie season has already started. For those who preordered from Girl Scouts, it’s waiting for the scouts to deliver the orders.
Booth sales are an opportunity to order more when the initial orders run out. Booth sales are also an opportunity for people who need their cookie fix.
Another way of finding Girl Scout cookies is online through the Girl Scout website at girlscouts.org.
According to this website, one of the more consistent booth sales is at the Walmart store in Lihu‘e, where cookies will be available on almost all of the weekends in March while supplies last.
