Congratulations to Kevin and Christine Lenard of New York, who acquired a personally signed Patrice Pendarvis on Friday while honeymooning at the Sheraton Kaua‘i Coconut Beach Resort.
Patrice said she only does the fourth Friday event at the Sheraton Kaua‘i Coconut Beach because she doesn’t want to get overwhelmed by the work … Tiki of Aloha Paws Kaua‘i (they’re planning on being at the Downtown Lihu‘e Night Market next weekend) had the same idea by going to a Princeville craft fair instead of the Waimea Town Celebration. Jock Goodman was going to try his hand at moon rise that was scheduled for about the time the Sheraton Kaua‘i event was finishing. He still made it to the Kaua‘i Island Craft Fair on Saturday (with a terrific sunrise with the cruise ship, no less).
There was no big fire at Grove Farm Market on Saturday because Ferdinand Dosono had the Kaua‘i Kim Chee working at the Waimea Town Celebration (kudos, Thomas Nizo and his crew!). Instead, Nikol Nonaka had Chef Kell and Kai doing Roast Pork stuffed in Bao. Do we get the same thing next Saturday or is the menu changing each week?
Kudos, Tim Leichliter and Allegra Kanna-Scribner of Ho‘omalu Ke Kai for the coastline cleanup (hopefully, they got the green light to dive because of the weather) Saturday in the shadow of the group of ocean counters (they had a full crew on Saturday). Tim (he’s trying to set up a plastic recycling thing in Kaumakani) said it takes a village to take care of the ocean, and they’re just one of the village.
