In the meantime, Debbie Yanagihara of Kaua‘i Island Craft Fair said there will be about 30 vendors at Kaua‘i Veterans Center from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for those who are waiting for the Waimea Bridge to reopen so they can get through Waimea for the ho‘olaule‘a. Steve Kelly and Cherry Cherry (who is the NASA scientist doing the guest gig on saxophone? are appearing at 5 p.m. Friday and 2:45 p.m. on Saturday.
Santa said Hawai‘i is the last ZIP code on his North Pole deliveries so he gets to spend vacation in paradise where he got to meet Steve Kelly of Cherry Cherry, who was in turn thrilled to meet Capt. Brett Stevenson, the base commander at the Pacific Missile Range Facility where Cherry Cherry got to perform for the July Fourth Freedom Fest.
In the meantime, mahalo to Brycen Hiraoka who said the first bon dance (is this considered a signature event because so many people attend?) is coming to the Waimea Higashi Hongwanji (they had the last bon dance in 2023) on June 7-8. Pearl Shimizu said bon dance practice for the beginners have already started, and for everyone else, practice at the Kapa‘a Hongwanji lawn (the Center for Spiritual Living is in the social hall) starts on March 11 at 6 p.m.
