Ernesto R. Aguinaldo
Ernesto R. Aguinaldo passed away on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, at the age of 87 years old. He was born on July 23, 1936, in Kaumakani. He was a Sugar Cane Crane Operator Loader with Olokele Sugar Company.
He was preceded in death by parents Juan and Generosa Aguinaldo, son Wesley Aguinaldo, brothers Fausto Aguinaldo and Amado Aguinaldo.
He is survived by sons Stelzig Aguinaldo of Europe, Clayton Aguinaldo of Hanama‘ulu, daughters Leane (Eric) Aguinaldo-Medeiros of Koloa, Abbie Aguinaldo of Florida, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brother Domingo (Sunday) Aguinaldo of Kaumakani, sisters Marina (Benjamin) Villatora of Puhi, Julia (Andy) Tambua of Wailua, Carol Rita of ‘Ele‘ele, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services to be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at The Garden Island Mortuary. Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. The family suggests casual attire and welcomes flowers.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ellen Sumie Daly
Ellen Sumie Daly, of Kapa‘a, passed away at home on Feb. 11, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born on April 26, 1934, and was a loving mother to her children.
She was preceded in passing by parents Yeiji and Maka Miyashiro.
Ellen is survived by children Paul (Chanella) Daly, Dawn (Isidro) Novoa, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Private services for Ellen will be held in the future.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Maria Carmen P. Macadangdang
Maria Carmen P. Macadangdang passed away on Feb. 3, 2024, in Lihu‘e at the age of 96. She was born on Oct. 17, 1927, in the Philippines. She was a retired laborer from Kilauea Guava Plantation.
She was preceded in death by parents Emeterio and Matea Pascua, husband Emigdio Macadangdang and daughter Marciana Magaoay.
She is survived by sons Alejandro (Aniceta) Macadangdang, Tranquilino (Nora) Macadangdang, Rogelio Macadangdang, daughter Puri (Napoleon) Villanueva and numerous grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family on Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Koloa. Visitation begins at 10 a.m., Mass to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., and burial will follow at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery.
